Lyics

My God inspire this heart of mine,

To praise thy name in songs of thine-

May heav'nly love, breathe thro' my clay,

While singing of the living way.

The way of death with haste I trod,

Oppress'd with sin, a heavy load-

But O! how happy was that day,

When first I found the living way.

Jesus' pure harmless flesh, I see,

Was rent and torn, and bled for me;

That blood of Christ, sheds heav'nly day,

And points me out the living way.

O God! when now I view the plan,

How Christ descends and dwells with man,

I leap for joy and gladly say,

I'm in the new and living way.

When e'er thy smiling face I view,

My strength and vigor I renew;

I'm then prepar'd to sing and pray

Along the new and living way.

When in this living way I move,

I'm fill'd with sweet seraphie love;

O how I long to see the day,

When all shall crowd this living way.

And when I reach that blessed place,

Where living streams and joy and peace

Shall fill my soul, in endless day,

I'll praise the new and living way.
