Lyics

O Lord, redeem me from the earth,
And shew me of my heav'nly birth;
And give me grace to spend my days
In holy love and thankful praise.

May all my thoughts be placed on high,
To raise my love above the sky;
And serve my God both day and night,
And in his law take great delight.

Unite my heart to thee alone,
May all my earthly thoughts be gone;
O may I love my gracious God,
And march along the heav'nly road.

I now despise the worldlings dross,
And glory in my Saviour's cross;
And count the world with all its good
Not worth one drop at Jesus' blood.

So I can gain the heav'nly land,
And join with the celestial band;
I would forego all earthly bliss,
So I might have such joy as this.
