LyicsOur Saviour's first and great command,
When he his servants sent
Was, "say God's kingdom is at hand,
O sinners, now repent."
They went their ways and preach'd the word
And bade the world believe;
The great Messiah's sent from God
And him you must receive.
Thus, their great mission they proclaim'd
And no division rose,
The love of Christ their hearts constrain'd
One theme they all disclose.
The mission yet doth stand for some,
For all that bear the news;
Repentance, faith, thy kingdom come,
This subject now we'll use.
While on this theme our tongues doth dwell
Our minds are all the same;
Our congregations' hearts doth swell,
With love to Jesus' name.
Let's all declare that Jesus di'd
To save our sinful race;
An in his ways we'll all abide,
And triumph in his grace.
