LyicsGreat God! indulge my humble claim;
Help me to praise thy glor'ous name;
Be thou my hope, my joy, my rest-
With thy dear saints may I be blest.
Thou great and good, thou just and wise,
To thee I lift my weeping eyes;
O thou! my good omnicient God,
Now make me free in Jesus' blood.
With heart and eyes and lifted hands,
With pleading lips thy suppliant stands;
As pilgrims seek the water brook,
For thee I long, to thee I look.
The longest life, without thy love,
My guilt and burden to remove,
No joy nor pleasure could afford-
A dreadful case to loose my Lord.
I'll lift my hands, I'll raise my voice,
And make thy word and ways my choice;
I'll spend the remnant of my days,
In thankfulness and constant praise.
