Lyics

Disciples of my Lord shall know
The truth in all its pow'r;
It will their humble duty show,
And save them every hour.

The truth shall purify their hearts,
And cleanse them all from sin;
Shall renovate their ev'ry part,
And make them pure within.

The truth invigorates their strength,
Felicitates their mind;
Enables them, their journey's length,
Celestial joys to find.

The truth shall lead them forth to light,
Illuminate them all;
And from the deepest shades of night,
It doth us now recal.

The truth makes free from all our bands
Emancipates from fear;
Delivers us from evil hands,
And makes us persevere.

Truth will humiliate the form
Of ostentatious life;
And calm the angry raging storm
Of all our sinful strife.

The truth will raise us from the ground,
And give us wings to fly;
To praise in mansions all around,
There elevated high.
