LyicsAnother year has roll'd around,
And we are spared yet;
Numerous mercies have we found,
Tho' we our God forget.
Ten thousand wretched souls have fled,
Since the last new-year day;
Their bones are mingled with the dead,
Yet we have time to pray.
Now let your contemplations rise
To God that rules above;
See his favors, diffused wise,
All mingled with his love.
This day begins the favor'd year;
Let us begin to cry;
Let us now to our God draw near,
And supplicate the sky.
O may we turn from sinful ways,
And serve our precious God,
And bring our thankful songs of praise
To Jesus Christ our Lord,
That when our year, or time shall end,
And he no more below,
We may be found with Christ our friend,
Where endless pleasures flow.
