Lyics

How happy are they, who their Saviour obey,

And have laid up their treasure above!

Tongue cannot express the sweet comfort and peace

Of a soul in the Saviour's love!

This comfort is mine, since the favor divine

I have found in the blood of the Lamb;

Since the truth I believ'd, what a joy I've receiv'd.

What a heaven in Jesus bless'd name!

Tis a heaven below my Redeemer to know,

And the angels can do nothing more

Than to fall at his feet, and the story repeat,

And the lover of sinners adore!

Jesus all the day long is my joy and my song;

O! that all to this refuge may fly!

He has lov'd me, I cry'd, he has suffer'd and di'd,

To redeem such a rebel as I!

On the wings of his love I am carri'd above

All my sin, and temptation, and pain;

O why should I grieve, while on him I believe!

O why should I sorrow again!

O the rapturous height of this holy delight,

Which I feel in the life-giving blood!

Of my Saviour possess'd, I am perfectly bless'd,

Being fill'd with the fulness of God!

Now my remnant of days would I spend to his praise,

Who has di'd me from sin to redeem;

Whether many or few, all my years are his due;

They shall all be devoted to him.

What a mercy is this! what a heaven of bliss!

How unspeakably happy am I!

Gather'd into the fold, with believers enroll'd,

With believers to live and to die.
