LyicsSi-lent-ly the shades of eve-ning
Gath-er round my low-ly door;
Si-lent-ly they bring be-fore me
Fa-ces I shall see no more.
Oh! the lost, the un-for-got-ten,
Though the world be oft for-got;
Oh! the shrouded and the lone-ly-
In our hearts they per-ish not.
Living in the silent hours,
Where our spirits only blend-
They, unlinked with earthly trouble;
We, still hoping for its end.
How such holy memories cluster,
Like the stars when storms are past;
Pointing up to that far heaven
We may hope to gain at last!
