Lyics

Great God! thy penetrating eye

Pervades my inmost pow'rs;

With awe profound my wond'ring soul

Falls prostrate and adores.

To be encompass'd round with God,

 The Holy and the Just,

Arm'd with omnipotence to save,

Or crush me to the dust, --

O how tremendous is the thought!

Deep may it be impress'd,

And may thy Spirit firmly grave

This truth within my breast.

Begirt with thee, my fearless soul

The gloomy vale shall tread;

And thou wilt bind th' immortal crown

Of glory on my head.
