LyicsSWEET the moments, rich in blessing,
Which before the cross I spend;
Life, and health, and peace possessing,
From the sinner's dying friend.
Here I'll sit, for ever viewing
Mercy streaming in his blood;
Precious drops! My soul bedewing,
Plead they now my peace with God.
Truly blessed is this station,
Here unfolds his wondrous grace;
While I see diving compassion
Beaming in his lovely face.
Here it is I find my heave,
While upon the cross I gaze;
Here the joy of sins forgiven
Shall inspire my songs of praise.
Love and grief my heart dividing,
Whole his feet I bath with tears;
Constant still in faith abiding-
Hope triumphant o'er my fears.
Lord! in ceaseless contemplation,
Fix my trusting heart on thee,
Till I know thy full salvation,
And thy face in glory see.
