Lyics

God from the dead has rais'd his Son;

Death and the pow'rs of hell are spoil'd;

Justice declares the work is done,

And God and man are reconcil'd.

Christians, for whom the Lord was slain,

Give to his name the glory due;

O let his love your hearts constrain

To live for him who died for you.

Earth's empty toys no more esteem,

Your minds from worldly thoughts remove;

Let your affections rise with him,

And set your hearts on things above.
