LyicsThrough a dark world of woe we are painfully driven;
But we cheerfully go,
For we journey to heaven;
And the realms of the blest
Are the saints' destination,
And the heavenly rest
Their eternal salvation.
Though lonely the way, and the wilderness dreary,
And though gloomy the day,
Let us never grow weary.
All who hope in the Lord,
And who live in the Spirit,
And who trust in his Word,
Shall the promise inherit.
Let us press for the prize
With true faith and devotion,
Till the Daystar arise
On eternity's ocean.
The assurance of faith
Leads to glory undying,
Where shall be no more death,
Neither sorrow nor crying.
