LyicsIs it a long way off?
O, no! a few more years,
A few more bitter tears,-
We shall be there.
Sometimes the way seems long,
Our comforters all go,
Wo follows after wo,
Care after care.
O! brethren dear, how weak,
How faint and weak we are!
Yet Jesus leads us far
Through tangled ways
Into the very heart
Of this dark wilderness,
Where dangers thickest press,
and Satan strays.
But he is strong and wise,
And we, his children blind,
Must trust his thoughtful mind
And tender care.
So gentle is his love,
We may be sure that sight
Would show us all is right,
And answer'd prayer.
'Tis no uncertain way
We tread, for Jesus still
Leads with unerring skill
Where'er we roam;
And from the desert wild
Soom shall our path emerge,
And land us on the verge
Of our dear home.
