Lyics

Fair Zion's King, we humbly own,

And hail the grace thy church enjoys;

Her holy deacons are thine own,

With all the gifts thy love employs.

Up to thy throne we lift our eyes,

For blessings to attend our choice;

O make them faithful, good, and wise,

Obedient to thy heavenly voice.

Happy in Jesus, their own Lord,

May they his sacred table spread;

The table of their pastor fill,

And fill the holy poor with bread.

When, pastor, saints and poor, they serve,

May their own hearts with grace be crowned,

While patience, sympathy and love

Adorn, and thro' their lives abound.

By purest love to Chirst and truth,

O may they win a good degree

Of boldness in the Christian faith

And meet the smile of thine and thee.

And when they finish serving here,

May they with us in heaven appear;

And sit around their Father's board,

And feast forever with the Lord.
