LyicsFrom whence does this union arise,
That hatred is conquered by love?
It fastens our souls with such ties,
That distance nor time can remove.
It cannot in Eden be found,
Nor yet in a Paradise lost,
It grows on Immanuel's ground,
And Jesus' life's blood it did cost.
My friends so endeared unto me,
Our Souls so united in love;
Where Jesus is gone we shall be,
In yonder blest mansions above.
Why then so unwilling to part,
Since there we shall meet soon again!
Engraved on Immanuel's heart,
At distance we cannot remain.
And then we shall see that bright day,
And join with the angels above,
Set free from our prisons of clay,
United in Jesus' kind love.
With Jesus we ever shall reign,
And all his bright glory shall see;
Then sing hallelujahs - Amen!
