Lyics

ALMIGHTY Father, glorious Lord,
Thy precious name be known;
Touched by the virtues of thy word,
May men their Saviour own.

O may thy word awake the dead,
And bid the sleeping rise;
May every guilty sinner dread
The death that never dies.

Let all receive the word they hear,
Each in an honest heart,
Lay up the precious treasure there,
And never with it part.

O let the speaker comprehend
Thy word of truth most clear;
Him utterance and wisdom send,
And give us ears to hear.
