Lyics

WHY did the nations join to slay

The Lord's anointed Son?

Why did they cast his laws away

And tread his gospel down?

Attend, O earth, while God declares

His uncontrolled decree:--

"Thou art mine only Son, this day

Have I begotten thee."

Ask and receive thy full demands,

Thine shall the heathen be;

The utmost limits of the land

Shall be possessed by thee.

Learn, then, ye princes and give ear,

Ye judges of the earth;

Worship the Lord with holy fear,

Rejoice with awful mirth.
