LyicsBEHOLD the blest, the heavenly Lamb
With wonder, gratitude, and love;
To take away our guilt and shame,
See him descending from above.
Our sins and griefs on him were laid;
He meekly bore the mighty load;
Our ransom-price he fully paid
In groans and tears, in sweat and blood.
Pardon and peace through him abound;
He doth the Holy Spirit give;
Salvation in his name is found,
He bids the dying sinner live.
His power and glory work within,
And all the riches of his reign;
The troubled conscience knows his voice
And all our inmost powers rejoice.
