LyicsFaith, Faith is the substance our hopes are upon;
And with faith we please the eternal One:
By faith do we know the worlds were made,
And by faith the martyrs were raised from the dead.
'Twas faith subdued kingdoms, and righteousness wrought,
By faith the great battles of Israel were fought;
Its Author and End, is our Saviour above.
And still faith abides here with hope and with Love.
Hope, Hope is the Anchor, both steadfast and sure,
'Tis given to christians their souls to secure,
And he that hath hope will endeavor to be,
As pure as the author of all purity.
By hope we are sav'd, but greater than this,
And greater than faith, e'en the summit of bliss
Is LOVE, the eternal, best Gift, from above,
For Love is of God, and Jehovah is LOVE.
